Mar 13, 2017 (newstodate): The Iranian carrier Mahan Air has been forced to suspend services on its route between Tehran and Copenhagen, operated since June 9, 2016, with two weekly rotations.
-It is unfortunately true. At this moment we are not able to provide the flights as scheduled, says Hossein Abdolahi, Mahan Air International Affairs Expert.
-The reason is some discrepancy in regulations on the Iranian and the Danish side, and before these issues are cleared we will have to suspend services.
-We are, however, keen to resume the operation, and a representative from Mahan Air will come to Copenhagen already next week to work on the issues with the Danish authorities.
-Unfortunately, I cannot tell you more over the phone, says Mr Abdolahi.
It is known that the US administration has some issues with Mahan Air's international services due to allegations that the carrier has been involved in carriage of military equipment to Syria, and this also barred the airline's plans for an early start of services from Tehran to Stockholm, in Sweden.
