Mar 30, 2017 (newstodate): The Faroe Islands' national carrier Atlantic Airways is taking delivery of its second Airbus A320 aircraft this summer.
-The delivery is slated for June or July 2017, and the aircraft is on a lease contract with Aircastle, says Johanna a Berghi, Atlantic Airways CEO.
-We have decided that it makes better sense to have two A320 and one A319 rather than one A320 and two A319 aircraft as of today.
-With two A320 aircraft we will have better back-up capacity on our trunk route between Vagar and Copenhagen, and besides the market prefers the A320 to the A319 on ACMI contracts as we offer during the off-season periods.
-The routes under our NORD strategy will continue with A319 services and we do not currently have any plans for introducing smaller aircraft into the fleet, says Mrs a Berghi.
