Mar 08, 2017 (newstodate): Danish capital is set to take over the stake in the Latvian carrier airBaltic, since February 2016 held by the german investor Ralf Dieter Montag Girmes through his company, Aircraft Leasing 1 SIA.
The news was carried by Latvian media on March 7.
-I can confirm that I am currently negotiating the acquisition of the 20 percent of the stake in airBaltic not held by the Latvian state, says Lars Thuesen, who is also behind the Danish charter and ACMI carrier Jet Time.
-The transaction will require the approval by the majority stakeholder, the Latvian state, and this approval has been granted at a closed meeting in the Latvian cabinet on Tuesday, March 7.
-Based on this, negotiations now continue over the eventual conclusion of the transaction. Apart from this, I have no further comment at this stage, says Mr Thuesen.
