Mar 13, 2017 (newstodate): Iran has now taken delivery of its second ex-factory Airbus aircraft of the massive ordered placed in 2016.
In January 2017, Iran Air took delivery of the first Airbus A321 aircraft from Airbus, and the second delivery concerns one Airbus A330-200 aircraft that joined Iran Air's fleet on March 10, 2017.
The deliveries are made possible after the partial list of US-imposed sanctions on Iran, but the delivery scheme is still marked by an insecurity over the new US administration's approach to the deal.
Originally, the schedule comprised five Airbus A320 and A330 aircraft in 2016, together with three ATR72-600 aircraft.
This would then be followed by 14 more aircraft in 2017, and by 2024 all 45 A320, 45 A330, 16 A350 and 12 A380 would be delivered.
