Feb 08, 2017 (newstodate): After year-long efforts by an industrial lobby to relocate Denmark's Aarhus Airport have finally proved fruitless, the airport seems to be back on a growth track in 2017.
Ryanair has thus announced the opening of a new route between Aarhus Airport and Gdansk, in Poland, starting from October 2017 and offering two weekly rotations.
Ryanair will thus become the third carrier to test the market for direct flights between Aarhus and Gdansk, after earlier attempts by first Wizz Air in 2001 and later LOT in 1012 failed after brief periods due to low demand.
Earlier, the airport also announced the launch of a new route by CSA from May 11, 2017 to Prague, and on June 25, 2017, flights will commence on a new seasonal route between Aarhus and Malaga, operated by SAS.
