Feb 16, 2017 (newstodate): Uzbekistan Airways is focusing on expanding its provision of Boeing 787 cockpit crews after placing its order for more aircraft of this type.
Since summer 2016, the carrier has completed the training and certification of 16 Boeing 787 pilots, and a training program comprising a further nine pilots and one Boeing 787 instructor is currently running at Boeing's simulator facility in Shanghai.
The carrier took delivery of its first of four Boeing 787-8 aircraft ordered in 2008 on August 31, 2016, with the second delivery on November 5, and the carrier has now placed an order for another three aircraft of the larger type, the Boeing 787-9.
