Feb 10, 2017 (newstodate): While annual total production is still limited, measured by western standards, Sukhoi actually exceeded its production target for the Superjet 100 in 2016.
A total of 22 aircraft was manufactured, and 28 Superjet 100 aircraft were delivered to customers, while the production target for 2016 was 20 aircraft and 25 aircraft were to be delivered.
In 2016, Superjet 100 aircraft were thus delivered to 16 customers including Aeroflot, Yamal Airlines, Yakutia Airlines, IrAero, Rossiya Special Flight Squadron, the Irish carrier CityJet and Mexican InterJet, Kazakhstan's Boarder Patrol and Royal Thai Air Force.
Looming on the horizon are now plans for Armenia to set up a new national carrier in a cooperation with Russia, and the projected airline would have a fleet of up to 10 Superjet 100 aircraft.
So far, no orders for the planned carrier have been placed yet.
