Feb 27, 2017 (newstodate): Russia is keen to secure a market for its home-built Superjet 100 aircraft, as a replacement of foreign-built commercial aircraft.
A pilot state program to replace fleets of foreign aircraft with Russian alternatives is now in force, and not surprisingly several Russian carriers are reacting positively.
The Russian carrier Yamal Airlines has thus now taken in six Superjet 100 aircraft and sees its future with more of this type, eventually growing its Superjet aircraft fleet to 25 units.
As a first step, the Superjet 100 will replace the four Boeing 737 aircraft currently in Yamal's fleet.
