Feb 07, 2017 (newstodate): December 2016 showed a sustained growth in the penetration of e-AWBs in the Nordic and Baltic region, according to the latest figures from IATA.
Only one market, Estonia, remained unchanged in December, compared to the preceding month, while all other markets grew their proportion of e-AWBs.
Heading the race was Lithuania where the growth, percentage-wise, reached 16.5 percent, while Iceland came second with an increase by 10.4 percent.
Denmark took the lead position in Scandinavia with an increase by 8.9 percent, narrowly beating Sweden that reached 8.4 percent, while Norway also increased by 6.9 percent.
Finally, in the Finnish market the growth in December was 6.5 percent, and Latvia reached 5.5 percent, compared to November 2016.
Shining with the highest rate of e-AWB penetration in December was Iceland with 73.3 percent, followed by Lithuania at 62 percent, and Denmark at 46.2 percent.
Latvia came last on the list with only 20.6 percent.
