Feb 06, 2017 (newstodate): Plans by the Polish carrier LOT to open flights from Warsaw to Bangkok in 2017 are still shrouded in mist.
Recently, a Thai media citing remarks by Thailand's Minister of Transportation claimed that LOT's plans for start of services were finalized with a start-up in 2017.
This is refuted, however, by LOT and expectations are now that while LOT will indeed launch flights to Bangkok, the start will be only in 2018.
Earlier, the start was expected already in 2016.
LOT opened flights to its first Asian destination, Beijing, in May 29, 2012, and the second Asian route connects Warsaw to Tokyo from January 13, 2016, and from October 17, 2016, the carrier is also offering three weekly rotations on the route to Seoul, South Korea, with Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
