Feb 20, 2017 (newstodate): Moscow Domodedovo Airport reports a sound increase in cargo volumes in January 2017, compared to 2016.
Growth in cargo was seen both in the domestic and the international segments, with domestic cargo increasing in volume by 21.5 percent to 4,854 tonnes, while international cargo was also up by 11.7 percent to 4,995 tonnes.
In the international cargo segment, the growth was especially driven by destinations including Yerevan, Dubai, Singapore and Bangkok.
In total, the airport's cargo volumes were thus up by 16.3 percent, y-o-y.
Moscow Domodedovo Airport is traditionally the national leader in domestic cargo volumes, while cargo through Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport is mainly international cargo.
