Feb 09, 2017 (newstodate): Iran and Ireland are to cooperate in enhancing Iran's civil aviation.
The Civil Aviation Organizations of the two countries have signed an MoU including the implementation of ICAO's Article 83 from the Convention on International Civil Aviation.
The MoU aims at providing better regulation and oversight of air safety in the case of international lease, charter or interchange of aircraft and thus paves the road for Iran to lease aircraft from Ireland.
Based on this agreement, Iran Aseman Airlines can now advance in its plans to enter a lease-purchase contract with an Irish company for seven new Airbus A320neo aircraft.
At the same time, the agreement is the first of its kind between the two countries.
