Feb 21, 2017 (newstodate): Not merely a rumor: the Finnish airline project Go! Aviation has folded its wings and filed for bankruptcy.
-We never managed to overcome the problems from last summer, now under investigation, and eventually our resources have come to and end, forcing us to enter bankruptcy procedures, says Roope Kekalainen, Go! Aviation.
-I will now take a much-needed break and after some weeks we will reassess the situation to see if there are any further windows of opportunity to relaunch Go! Aviation. If not, this is the end of it, says Mr Kekalainen.
The first operation was planned for flights on routes between Kuopio and Helsinki as well as between Helsinki and Tallinn, Estonia, with ambitions to grow the network at a later stage to include routes from Finland to Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Holland and other European markets.
