Feb 03, 2017 (newstodate): Finnair has now withdrawn the last Airbus A340 aircraft from commercial service.
The last flight was performed on January 31, 2017, on the route between Helsinki and Tokyo.
Finnair took delivery of its first Airbus A340 in 2006 and has had a total of seven aircraft of this type in the fleet, where the Airbus A350 aircraft is gradually talking over the long-haul flights while eight Airbus A330 aircraft will still be in service for a prolonged period.
Four of Finnair's A340 aircraft will be redelivered to Airbus for part-out, while three aircraft will see a future with the coming new carrier Air Belgium that will obtain its AOC in March and start operations from this summer.
