Feb 23 2017 (newstodate): Starting from May 2017, the Icelandic LCC WOW Air will commence flights between Cork, in Ireland, and Keflavik, connecting to the carrier's growing network of Transatlantic routes from Iceland.
Following in the footsteps of the carrier will be the Danish aircraft maintenance company Aeroservice, already a provider to WOW Air at its home base at Keflavik Airport.
-To support the coming operations of WOW Air, we will set up Cork as a new Aeroservice line maintenance base providing a package of maintenance services to the carrier, says Andrew Djurhuus, Aeroservice CEO and Accountable Manager.
-As planned, we will hand over our first project with WOW Air in April 2017 after having worked since March 2016 to set up a new aircraft line maintenance organization for WOW Air at Iceland's Keflavik Airport
-Our aim is thus to follow our customer with provision of technical services as they expand their operations, says Mr Djurhuus.
Set up only in 2015 and EASA Part-145 certified by early 2015, Aeroservice has now also been licensed as one of the first maintenance providers to the Airbus A320neo powered by CFM engines, which will further boost Aeroservice's business potentials at stations including Copenhagen Airport.
