Dec 11, 2017 (newstodate): The Swedish/UK cargo carrier West Atlantic is pinning much hope on a successful sale of abundant ATP aircraft to bring in cash sufficient to bridge the Group's liquidity gap until profitability returns to healthier levels.
In the last quarter of 2017, two aircraft disposals are expected to be completed, leaving however a possibility that one or both transactions will not be completed until Q1 2018.
Five of the carrier's present routes in Norway will be closed down in January 2018 without any compensation as PostNord Norway mail flights network in 2018 will reduce West Atlantic's operations from eight to three aircraft.
The reduction in Norway will ground five ATP freighter that are, however, difficult so sell as they are not fitted with the large cargo door.
