Dec 15, 2017 (newstodate): The Norwegian carrier Wideroe has announced the opening of a spree of new routes in June 2018, served with its new Embraer aircraft.
The first in the world to introduce the Embraer E190-E2 in commercial traffic, Wideroe will start flights from Bergen to Hamburg and Munich in Germany using the new Embraer aircraft, and to Billund and Gothenburg using Bombardier Q400 aircraft.
From Kristiansand Wideroe will be launching flights to London and increase frequency on the existing route to Trondheim, in both cases using Bombardier Q400 aircraft.
A total of three Embraer E190-E2 have been ordered, and the first aircraft will join the Wideroe fleet in March 2018, with the next two to follow in April.
This marks also the carrier's entry into the jet age as the fleet now comprises only turboprop aircraft including 41 Dash-8 aircraft of various types.
