Dec 19, 2017 (newstodate): Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport has seen it cargo volumes up by no less than 30 percent in the first 11 months of this year.
A total of over 260,000 tonnes has been handled at the airport, and mail volumes were up 42.4 percent, y-o-y, 30,000 tonnes during the period.
The volume of international cargo through the airport's handling company Moscow Cargo during the first 11 months of 2017 increased by 60.8 percent, y-o-y, raising the share of the company's total turnover to 65 percent.
Cargo on domestic traffic was, however, slightly down by 2,95 percent.
Transit air cargo volumes on international flights increased by 80 percent, y-o-y, while import volumes increased by 44 percent.
The most popular international routes, accounting for more than 50 percent of the total freight traffic, were China, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, France, the USA.
Other highly demanded areas were the United Kingdom, India, Israel, Thailand and South Korea.
The strongest growth in inbound freight traffic was seen on the routes from Delhi, Oslo, Hanoi, Brussels.
