Dec 08, 2017 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo is reporting continued growth in cargo volumes in November 2017.
A total of 13,497 tonnes of cargo was carried, an increase by eight percent, y-o-y, including 12,791 tonnes on scheduled passenger flights, up 16.4 percent, and 707 tonnes on cargo flights - a drop by 53 percent y-o-y as the agreement with JAL on cargo expired by the end of October 2017.
Finnair's only cargo operations are thus now the three weekly rotations between Helsinki and Brussels, operated by DHL.
Cargo in the Asian lanes was strongly up 23.9 percent to 9,890 tonnes with the strongest growth markets growth seen in Hong Kong, China, Thailand, and Korea.
The N Atlantic traffic also developed positively with a growth by 33.9 percent to 679 tonnes.
Despite a strong growth in the German market in 2017, European loads were down 7.3 percent to 2,173 tonnes in November.
During the first 11 months of 2017, the carrier has thus been transporting a total of 145,018 tonnes of cargo, an increase by 6.9 percent, y-o-y, with the Asian volumes rising 10.6 percent to 94,877 tonnes..
