And there seems to be no exceptions: the latest Chinese tourist invasion has now reached into the Antarctica!
According to Chinese media, referred by BBC, a group of 22 Chinese tourists landed on a 2.5 km runway carved into the ice, on board a Gulfstream aircraft that flew in from Cape Town.
Hailed as a landmark event by Chinese tourism organizers, the trip was however planned and organized in cooperation with a South African tour operator specializing in Antarctic trips.
The tour was a preparation for a coming launch of Chinese tourist trips to Antarctica from 2018.
The number of Antarctic tourists has been rising steadily over the past few years.
Last season, 44,367 tourists visited the continent and numbers are expected to keep rising. And now China is making its entrance as well..
