Nov 13, 2017 (newstodate): Ukraine International Airlines is sniffing at opening a new destination in Lithuania - Kaunas Airport.
A delegation from the carrier has been visiting Kaunas Airport on a fact finding mission to assess the potentials for opening a route connecting Kiev and Kaunas, sources say.
Since June 1, 2013, UIA has been offering flights on the route between Kiev and Vilnius, succeeding UTAir Ukraine that entered the route from March 22, 2013, after replacing AeroSvit that started flight between Kiev and Vilnius in 2010 but folded its wings in January 2013.
Since September 19, 2016, Ukraine International Airlines is also offering flights between Lviv and Vilnius as well as operating the route between Odessa and Vilnius since June 27, 2015, and between Kiev and Palanga from June 19, 2016.
