Nov 24, 2017 (newstodate): Turkish Airlines is satisfied with the performance of its route between Istanbul and Denmark's Billund Airport.
In response to demands in the market, the carrier is now increasing frequency on the route from five to seven weekly rotations, starting from December 19, 2017.
Starting out with a triangular operation launched in June 2012 with three flights on the route Istanbul-Aalborg-Billund-Istanbul, going up to five weekly rotations from spring 2014 and extending to daily flights from June 28, 2015, Turkish Airlines replaced the triangular flights by direct flights between Istanbul and the two Danish destinations - and pulled out from serving Aalborg from October 30, 2016.
In addition to the passenger flights, Turkish Cargo is now also operating two weekly freighter services between Istanbul and Billund.
