Nov 28, 2017 (newstodate): No less than six Russian carriers are now providing scheduled flights between Russia and Georgia.
Latest newcomer to the market is Saratov Airlines that has launched a weekly flight during the winter schedule, using AN-148 aircraft on the route from Saratov via Mineralny Vody to Tbilisi, Georgia.
Already serving the market for flights between Russia and Georgia are the Russian airlines Aeroflot, Pobeda, S7, Ural Airlines and Nordavia, while only one Georgian carrier, Georgian Airways, is in the market.
Air services between the two countries were severed in August 2008 due to the military clashes between Russia and Georgia.
From August 2010, only direct charter flights were admitted, and the market returned to normal only from September 2014.
