Nov 30, 2017 (newstodate): Hardly any one airport in the region does not harbor dreams of being wooed by China's booming e-trade giants.
Hungary's Budapest Airport is no exception: the airport has signed an agreement with two large logistics companies, STO Express from China and EKOL on the first phase of an international cooperation to establish Budapest Airport as a hub for e-commerce goods, arriving from China for distribution to European markets.
The agreement was landed at the annual conference in Budapest of the "16+1 cooperation" initiative, comprising China and 16 countries from the Central and Eastern European region.
Similar enterprises have been targeted in the Baltic region by Tallinn Airport in Estonia and Riga Airport in Latvia.
So far with limited visible outcome.
