Nov 06, 2017 (newstodate): The Danish cargo carrier, part of the AP Moller-Maersk Group, Star Air is gradually phasing out some of its currently 11 Boeing 767-200F aircraft.
Instead, they will be replaced with Boeing 767-300F freighters, two of which are already in the fleet with one more to be added either late in 2017 or by early 2018.
The carrier's fleet serving a contract with UPS thus now totals 13 Boeing 767 freighters.
The two Boeing 767-200F aircraft poised for replacement are owned by Star Air.
One will continue serving under the contract with UPS till the delivery of the 3rd Boeing 767-300, while the other aircraft will serve as a peak season back-up also under the contract with UPS.
In the longer perspective, the future of these two aircraft remains unsettled but they will probably continue serving with Star Air until their next major C-check, after which they will be scrapped for part-out.
