Nov 29, 2017 (newstodate): The Aviation Industry Corporation of China, AVIC, has released a new forecast on the development of the country's aviation over the next 20 years.
Comprised by the forecast is also an estimate of the country's fleet of freighters, today consisting of 132 aircraft.
By the end of 2036, Chinese carriers will be operating no less than 748 freighters in the commercial market, the forecast says.
In 2016, China's passenger and cargo traffic volumes reached 488 million people and 6.68 million tonnes respectively, rising 11.9 percent and 6.2 percent year-on-year, respectively.
