Oct 06, 2017 (newstodate): The future of converted Airbus A321 aircraft has gained a fresh boost by the Aviation company Vallair Solutions' launch order placed with 321 Precision Conversions.
-We are committed to the non-OEM supported conversion design done by Precision Aircraft solution. The prototype aircraft MSN891 is already in Tucson, Arizona, says Peter Koster, Vallair Business Development Director.
-We have committed for a considerable, yet-unannounced number of aircraft conversions. The prime market for this cargo aircraft will be Europe, followed by USA and middle east. China and Southeast Asia is of course also a market but we expect that market to open up when a more important number of conversion of the A321 has been done so that Hub and Spoke gateways can take full benefit of the containerized lower deck, says Mr Koster.
321PC is a new joint venture, announced in August 2017, by Erickson Group's Precision Aircraft Solutions arm, and Air Transport Services Group subsidiary Cargo Aircraft Management.
First out to announce a P2F program the Airbus A321 in June 2015 was Elbe Flugzeugwerke with a solution offering 14 main-deck positions able to carry up to 27 tonnes of cargo over 1,900nm.
Conversion of the world's fleet of some 1,400 Airbus A321 aircraft will become increasingly relevant as the new A321NEO aircraft gains the market.
