Oct 27, 2017 (newstodate): Samarkand in Uzbekistan and Turkey's Istanbul will get closely connected by new air links.
Turkish Airlines is to add Samarkand to its extensive route network from March 16, 2018, starting out with one weekly rotation and increasing to two weekly flights from the summer 2018 schedule.
Turkish Airlines is already operating flights between Istanbul and Tashkent, Uzbekistan's capital, and this service will remain unchanged.
The two destinations will be connected, however, already from October 30, 2017, as Uzbekistan Airways launches a weekly rotation between the two destinations.
