Oct 05, 2017 (newstodate): Armenia's Yerevan Zvartnots International Airport is seeing passenger and cargo volumes rising significantly in 2017.
During the first nine months of this year, the airport has been handling 1,922,183 passengers, an increase by 24 percent, y-o-y.
Cargo volumes are also steeply up by no less than 49.7 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 17,183 tonnes.
In 2016, the airport handled a total of 2,105,540 passengers and 18,269 tones of cargo.
Since 2002, Zvartnots International Airport as well as the country's second international airport at Gyumri has been managed by Armenia-International Airports, owned by Eduardo Eurnekian, an Argentine citizen of Armenian descent, for a 30-year period.
