Oct 02, 2017 (newstodate): As planned, the Danish carrier Blackbird Air has now completed the process to receive its own AOC.
Blackbird Air thus performed its very first "own" flight on October 1, 2017, as the Falcon 7X aircraft landed at the carrier's home base at Billund Airport under own call-sign.
After a recent reorganization, Blackbird Air Charter operates a business unit focusing on serving the market with passenger and cargo air charter solutions, another business unit is Blackbird Crew, and the third - and new - business unit is Blackbird Air now with on an own AOC currently supporting the operations of one Falcon 7X and one Falcon 2000S.
-The restructuring of our business has been performed to enhance the neutrality and independence of our air charter services from own aircraft operations as well as increasing the accountability and transparency of each business segment. At the same time it also marks a new stage in professionalization, Ole Christiansen, Blackbird Air Charter CEO and head of each of the three business units, earlier told newstodate.
