Jan 16, 2017 (newstodate): Starting from April, 2017, the Ireland-based CityJet will be operating the Superjet 100 aircraft for Brussels Airlines on a number of yet-unannounced routes.
The contract with Brussels Airlines comprises three Superjet 100 aircraft that will be operated with CityJet cockpit and cabin crews.
The Superjet operations will bridge some of the gap from the retirement from Brussels Airlines of four Avro RJ100 regional aircraft in 2016, with the remaining eight scheduled to leave the fleet by November 2017.
In October 2015, CityJet announced its firm order for 15 Superjet 100, and an option for another 10 later increased to 16, in a deal formalized through an agreement with the finance company Falko, which will buy the aircraft, and then place them on a leasing agreement with CityJet.
