Jan 11, 2017 (newstodate): Latvia's Riga Airport generated a modest, but still positive growth in cargo volumes in 2016.
Total volumes were thus up 4.8 percent, y-o-y, to 19,760 tonnes, including 11,357 tonnes of cargo and 8,403 tonnes of mail.
While the over-all figures for 2016 landed in the black, cargo volumes in the last quarter of the year drew back the increase significantly.
Volumes were thus down by 7.5, 11.3 and 11.7 percent, y-o-y, in October-December.
During the first nine months of the year, volumes were up by 11.1 percent, y-o-y, to 14,712 tonnes, with all months showing positive growth except July 2016.
