Jan 03, 2016 (newstodate): Only one out of Moscow's three leading international airports saw passenger volumes rising in the first 11 months of 2016.
The exception was Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport where passenger volumes increased by 6.7 percent, y-o-y, during the period.
Moscow Domodedovo Airport was down 7.2 percent, while Moscow Vnukovo Airport saw passenger volumes down by 14.7 percent.
A total of 30,921,215 passengers was thus handled at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport, 26,512,992 passengers were handled at Moscow Domodedovo Airport while Moscow Vnukovo Airport handled 12,857,271 passengers during January-November 2016.
As for cargo through the three airports, Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport was leading in growth, up 29.1 percent to 206,553 tonnes, while Moscow Domodedovo Airport handled 106,446 tonnes, down 10.6 percent, and Moscow Vnukovo Airport generated 37,583 tonnes, increasing 11,5 percent, y-o-y.
Mail volumes increased at all three capital airports, with Moscow Vnukovo Airport rising 35.4 percent to 6,390 tonnes, Moscow Domodedovo Airport increasing 20.8 percent to 20,401 tonnes, and Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport seeing 19.3 percent growth to 22,229 tonnes.
