Jan 30, 2017 (newstodate): Norwegian is poised to become the world's first carrier to operate the new Boeing 737 MAX.
The Norwegian LCC has placed orders for a total of 100 aircraft, and the first delivery is slated for May 2017.
Norwegian will introduce the Boeing 737 Max on routes between Europe and smaller destinations in the US market, where its long-haul routes are today operated with the larger Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
The US carrier Southwest Airlines was earlier supposed to become the first operator of the new aircraft type.
