Jan 17, 2017 (newstodate): Sweden's Gothenburg Airport will see a resumption of services on the route to Birmingham, in the UK.
Starting from May 8, 2017, bmi Regional will launch services between the two cities, offering six weekly rotations on the route with Embraer ERJ145 aircraft.
This will actually mark bmi Regional's return on the route that was first opened on November 3, 2003, in a code share agreement with the Gothenburg-based City Airline and operated thrice daily with City Airline's Embraer 135 and Embraer 145 aircraft.
On 29 November 2011 City Airline was acquired by Skyways, and all flights were then operated under the Skyways brand.
In May 2012, both Skyways and City Airline filed for bankruptcy.
