Jan 27, 2017 (newstodate): One Fokker 100 aircraft has changed livery from Sky Greenland to Bek Air from January 23, 2017.
Bek Air, the Kazakh carrier based at Oral Ak Zhol Airport, has taken in the aircraft on a lease contract and now operates a fleet of eight Fokker 100 aircraft, with ambitions to grow to 12 aircraft in two years, all operating on domestic routes.
In 2014, the aircraft was acquired by Denim Air that was taken over by Sky Greenland in January 2016, but Denim had its AOC suspended by the aviation authorities on November 25, 2016, after seeing its two Fokker 100 aircraft arrested by the lessor Mass Lease and running into a growing debts pile threatening the air safety of its operations and the financial survival of the company.
