Jan 11, 2017 (newstodate): Latest new member of ERA, the European Regions Airline Association is Croatia Airlines.
Bringing the total number of airlines in ERA membership to 54, Star Alliance member Croatia Airlines is the second airline to join ERA in the past three weeks, with the French carrier APG Airlines joining the association in December 2016.
Starting life as Zagal, Zagreb Airlines, in 1989, the airline is the flag carrier of Croatia with headquarters in Zagreb and a fleet consisting of two Airbus 320, four Airbus 319 and six Bombardier Dash 8-Q400 aircraft.
The airline connects Croatia directly with 35 airports in Europe, transporting nearly two million passengers annually.
Copenhagen Airport came on the carrier's route network already with the first flight from Zagreb on May 27, 2008. The carrier has also offered seasonal flights from Copenhagen to Dubrovnik and Split.
Among new destinations being analyzed is Oslo, in Norway, but other new Scandinavian destinations may be coming unto the monitor as well. Another option is the opening of flights to Stockholm, in Sweden.
