Sep 22, 2016 (newstodate): The US Treasury has now reportedly given its green light for Western aircraft manufacturers to sell aircraft to Iran.
The approval by the US treasury is required as the aircraft contain parts and components produced by US manufacturers.
Boeing is thus now proceeding its talks with Iran for the sale and - not least - financing by the US Exim Bank of 80 aircraft including Boeing 737 and 747-8 aircraft.
Along similar lines, Airbus has now also received the first of two licenses required to pursue the sale of 17 aircraft to Iran out of the total orders for 188 aircraft.
The delivery schedule comprises five Airbus A320 and A330 aircraft in 2016, together with three ATR72-600 aircraft.
This will be followed by 14 more aircraft in 2017, and by 2024 all 45 A320, 45 A330, 16 A350 and 12 A380 would be delivered.
The first ATR delivery is slated for November 2016, and all of the 20 aircraft ordered would be delivered by 2020.
