Sep 29, 2016 (newstodate): A new Air Services Agreement between USA and Ukraine is a significant boost to Antonov Airlines' charter operations.
The new agreement took effect from January 1, 2016, and based on this Antonov Airlines has now obtained unrestricted rights to perform cargo charter flights to and from the USA, while the total volume of operations was restricted under the old agreement.
In the fleet of Antonov Airlines, based at Kiev, are seven AN-124-100 Ruslan freighters, one AN-225 Mriya freighter and one AN-22 freighters, allowing for uplift of out-size shipments from 150 to 60 tonnes.
Antonov Airlines is also part of the JV with Russia's Volga-Dnepr Group, SALIS, serving NATO members with uplift capacity since 2006 - but now being abrogated due to the Ukraine-Russia tensions.
