Sep 14, 2016 (newstodate): Sweden's Luftfartsverket, LFV, has taken new steps to enhance safety and efficient air traffic service through implementation of a new redundant audio and screen recording system.
The system will allow for unlimited recording capacity for all data around ATM operations and serve as data base for subsequent investigations and quality appraisals.
Following a tender process, the Norwegian company Jotron was awarded the contract based on offering the most advanced nationwide recorder solution for both tower, approach and area control operations.
The system that will cover 30 airports around Sweden spans from the comprehensive recording of 240 audio channels and 120 screens at complex airports including Stockholm and Malmo to smaller towers with a few audio channels and screens.
