Sep 22, 2016 (newstodate): New airline at Copenhagen Airport in 2017 will be the Romanian low-cost carrier Blue Air.
Starting from June 2, 2017, the carrier will offer three weekly rotations on the route between Bucharest and Copenhagen with Boeing 737-400 aircraft, competing with SAS that is also online on the route since April 1, 2008, with currently two weekly rotations.
The route was actually opened by now-defunct Cimber Air, code-sharing with SAS, that launched operations with CRJ 200 aircraft six times weekly between the two destinations on May 3, 2004.
Blue Air is already serving the route between Bucharest and Stockholm, in Sweden, with two weekly rotations since June 4, 2016, going up to three during the summer 2017 schedule.
In Stockholm, Blue Air is competing with another Romanian carrier, Tarom that is already on-line from June 2, 2014, between Stockholm and Bucharest with six weekly rotations using Boeing 7837 aircraft.
And rounding off the offerings in the Swedish market is Wizz Air operating from Stockholm Skavsta Airport with another two weekly rotations using Airbus A320 aircraft.
