Sep 21, 2016 (newstodate): The Lithuanian transport and logistics company Hoptrans did not manage to launch its new Tianjin freighter service as planned.
September 20, 2016, was set as the start of twice-weekly Boeing 747-300SF operations, but red tape issues on the Belarus side forced Hoptrans to suspend the launch of services.
At stake is the final permit for the Belarus carrier TransAviaExpress to operate commercially into the EU, and the documentation produced by the carrier proved not to live up to required standards, forcing the temporary postponement of the start.
TransAviaExpress has been permitted to perform a test flight on the route between Tianjin and Kaunas, and expectations are that the start of scheduled services will be rescheduled for October 2016, pending the final approval of the pertinent documentation.
