Sep 28, 2016 (newstodate): Since July 2016, the Norwegian cargo handling company Roadfeeders is fully operative at its new terminal at Oslo Gardermoen Airport.
-The belated official opening is yet to be scheduled, but we are fully installed at the 8,500 sq m terminal that is meeting all expectations, says Lene Mellum, Roadfeeders Managing Director and member of the family-led ownership group.
-We are certainly quite satisfied with performance so far into 2016, and expect total volumes in 2016 to be around 10-15 above last year's levels, thanks to significant growth in cargo by many of our customers that include airlines such as Norwegian, KLM/AF Cargo, British Airways, Cargolux, United, Finnair, to name just a few. Not least Norwegian is growing its cargo volumes following the sustained expansion of frequencies and routes, and is certainly a most important customer of ours.
-Seafood is a very important export commodity and we are seeing this traffic growing steeply. To cater to the needs of this traffic, the new Roadfeeders terminal is providing both cooling and freezer services as well, and we expect the seafood traffic, notably the salmon exports, to continue its growth in the years ahead, says Ms Mellum.
