Sep 14, 2016 (newstodate): Greenland has now decided on the outcome of the tender for service contracts concerning the country's domestic transportation of passengers, mail and cargo.
Winners of the tender are Air Greenland, Disko Line and Norlandair - which means that Aluu Airlines did not manage to secure a role in the race.
The new service contracts take effect from January 1, 2017, replacing the existing contracts that have been running for 10 years.
The bid by Aluu Airlines was based on the introduction of Bristow helicopters with capacity to carry 19 passengers as well as cargo, as well as ATR fixed-wing aircraft that would be co-financed by Bristow.
But as Aluu Airlines did not land a share of the service contracts, the Bristow helicopters are now also not needed, and Bristow has therefore withdrawn its commitment to financing the ATR fleet as well.
