Sep 30, 2016 (newstodate): The European forwarding and logistics company Maurice Ward has set foot on Danish soil with an own office.
The office at Cargo Center Billund was opened six months ago, with Mads Nygaard handling freight operations, and Katya Kuzmanova handling sales inquiries.
-Maurice Ward is not a new-comer to Denmark but till now activities in Denmark have been managed from Prague, says Mr Nygaard.
-Today, our focus is still on managing incoming shipments generated by Maurice Ward offices around the world, but the idea is clearly to successively build up an own customer portfolio in Denmark, benefiting from our existing relations with Danish companies and the global network of Maurice Ward agents.
-So while the emphasis now is on overseeing the existing incoming business, we will establish own relations with Danish exporters as well, and already in October a third employee will join us, allowing me to free resources to initiate sales and marketing efforts in the market.
-The Prague office identified Billund Airport as the best location to start Maurice Ward operations in Denmark, and we have indeed been welcomed by the airport and now have the option of physically inspecting shipments when needed.
-At a later stage, we may probably also consider establishing a second office near Copenhagen Airport, but so far we are comfortable with being located in the region containing the majority of Danish industrial and trading companies, says Mr Nygaard.
