Sep 23, 2016 (newstodate): The new Finnish carrier under formation, Go! Aviation is working hard to get into the air.
-We are indeed behind initial schedules that planned for start of operations already by August, but our aim now is to launch services in the latter part of this year's Q4, says Riikka Oksanen, Go! Aviation's new CEO since August 9, 2016, replacing Jorma Kario who served as CEO and President of Go! Aviation from the start in April 2014.
-Negotiations with the aircraft owner and the leasing company concerning the conditions for taking the PC-12 aircraft have proved even more complex than anticipated, so the process is drawing on. We are, however, in a very positive phase now and can see the final solution within the very near future.
-In the meantime we are investing efforts in setting up the Go! Aviation organization, hiring staff including a new Sales Manager and local people at the stations where we are to work, securing that all things will be under our control once we start operations.
-As planned, our initial routes will be Kuopio-Helsinki and Helsinki-Tallinn, but we are of course already evaluating additional destinations for our future expansion. The business model remains with the focus on pre-paid monthly subscriptions for unlimited flights on our routes, with no last-minute sales on the eight-seat Pilatus aircraft, says Ms Oksanen.
