Sep 28, 2016 (newstodate): Yerevan Zvartnots Airport will soon see the arrival of a new airline on scheduled service: Brussels Airlines.
The Star Alliance member carrier has announced the start of flights on the route between Brussels and Yerevan from the start of next summer's schedule on March 31, 2017.
Operating with Airbus A319/A320 aircraft, the routes will be served with one weekly rotation, going up up to two weekly rotations during the summer peak in July and August.
The new route will become the first direct non-stop service between Belgium and Armenia, but Brussels Airlines actually performed a series of charter flights between Brussels to Yerevan in December 2015-March 2016 in cooperation with the Belgian-Armenian travel organization Armwings.
