Sep 26, 2016 (newstodate): October 1, 2016, will see the last joint IAG freighter flight between Helsinki and London.
Instead, Finnair Cargo and IAG-partner British Airways will utilize the cargo capacity on Finnair's Airbus A350 aircraft that will now be operating five weekly rotations on the route Helsinki-London, with a change of airport from London Stansted to London Heathrow which will optimize the transfer of cargo between Finnair's and the IAG partners' global route networks.
By this move, Finnair and its IAG partners will increase the total weekly cargo capacity on the route between Helsinki and London from 84 to 150 tonnes in each direction.
The joint freighter service to improve connectivity between Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas was launched on September 15, 2015, with two weekly rotations using an Airbus A300-600 freighter aircraft from DHL Aviation.
