Sep 07, 2016 (newstodate): Finnair has sustained problems with sufficient aircraft crews to staff its provider of regional air services, NoRRA.
As a consequence Finnair has had to adjust schedules and frequencies on several routes, and this affects also flights to some of the carrier's Russian destinations.
Finnair has thus announced the cancellation of flights between Helsinki and Kazan for the period October 3-22, 2016, and between Helsinki and Samara from October 2 to 24, all due to production needs.
Over the past few months NoRRA has experienced difficulties with the formation of the flight crews, primarily due to the fact that many pilots have been transferred to Finnair.
Owned by Staffpoint Holding, Finnair and Kilco, NoRRA is now actively recruiting and training new pilots to overcome the temporary difficulties in fulfilling the requirements of its customer, Finnair.
NoRRA is the successor of Flybe Nordic, set up as a JV between Finnair and FlyBe in November 2011.
The JV did not last long, however, and in May 2015 Finnair took over FlyBe's 60 percent of the stake in the JV, later selling this stake to new owners Staffpoint Holding and Kilco.
