Sep 14, 2016 (newstodate): The Baltic cargo GSA, AirProxy reports business as usual, even with a positive trend in 2016.
-Our markets are rather small, so they do not attract many new airlines into the region. Instead, we are happy that our customer portfolio includes leading carriers SAS Cargo, Lufthansa Cargo, CSA Cargo, Singapore Airlines Cargo, and Coyne Airways, says Viljar Lehtmets, AirProxy managing director.
-We represent these airlines in all three Baltic markets where AirProxy has own offices in Tallinn and Riga, while Lithuania is covered from our office in Tallinn. We have long had plans for an office in Vilnius, but as few new airlines are coming in, competition is very strong from the Lithuanian GSAs already in the market and we are managing Lithuania quite well from here.
-Air cargo remains a highly volatile business always depending on customer needs and for instance projects. We are luckily not affected by the crisis around Ukraine and Russia as most traffic into and from these markets is going on trucks, with little cargo by air.
-So we are quite satisfied with the performance in 2016 that so far seems even better than 2015 in numbers and size of shipments, says Mr Lehtmets.
